When Theory Met Reality
By Abhra Banerjee | Fractional CMO & Growth Strategist

Then I became an entrepreneur.
And that’s when theory met reality.
Corporate experience can teach you frameworks, processes and strategy.
But entrepreneurship teaches you something different: consequences.
When you’re building a business, every customer matters.
Every rupee matters.
Every hiring decision matters.
And sometimes, there simply isn’t a perfect answer waiting to be found.
You make decisions with incomplete information and live with the consequences.
That experience fundamentally changed how I think about growth.
Behind every marketing metric is a business reality.
Behind every lead is a customer who needs to be convinced.
Behind every growth plan are questions of cash flow, people, execution and risk.
That’s why I don’t believe good strategy should simply look impressive in a presentation.
It has to survive in the real world.
My entrepreneurial journey continues to shape how I work with founders today as a Fractional CMO.
Because ultimately, business growth isn’t about having the perfect plan.
It’s about building a strategy that works when reality doesn’t go according to plan.
When Theory Met Reality
A Question for Founders
What’s one lesson your business has taught you the hard way—something no MBA, business book or consultant could have prepared you for?
